Do you want to go back to the past and live again?

How many people would like to go back and live again?

When I was the team leader of the Samsung Scholarship Association, a scholarship student and his father came to visit me. His father explained why his son had difficulty continuing his studies. It is said that he ruined his son because of his own greed. Ignoring his son's hopes, his overzealousness caused his son to suffer from depression and social phobia. The father of the scholarship student sobbed. If he could go back to the past, he lamented, he would like to let go of his greed and do what his son wants. It made me very sad that the student I met in New York three years ago, who was well-spoken and lively, couldn't even look me in the eye.

I also go back to the past and there is one thing I want to fix the most, that is cigarettes. I started smoking at the age of 20, ignoring my mother's advice. When I felt chest pain in my mid-40s, I regretted smoking.

If people could go back and live again, how many people would want to go back to the past? Perhaps many people will choose to go back to the past and live anew. When I ask people where they would like to go back, many people tell me they would go back to their 20s. Because if they go back to the past with the experience and knowledge they have accumulated so far, they will be more successful than they are now.

In particular, people who have experienced rapid growth, such as Korea, have many regrets about the past. This is because the stocks they couldn't buy right before the skyrocketing, the stocks they couldn't sell right before the crash, and the apartments and land right before the skyrocketing surge remain as memories in their heads.

If they go back to the past, they would buy stocks right before they soar, and apartments in Gangnam and land in Yongsan right before they soar. Many people would want to correct their wrong choices if they went back to a specific moment in the past. They'll want to make the right choices about the embarrassing mistakes, the moments they missed out on the opportunity of a lifetime, and the mate they missed out on. I also want to go back in time and make important choices again.

What would happen if humans could live twice? Is it a blessing or a disaster? There are people who blame themselves for the life they are living now. For such a person, a second life may be a blessing. Unfortunately, humans cannot live twice.

Now, there is no such high growth as in the past in Korea anymore. People who live in an era where rapid growth has stopped have a hard time living. Many jobs and opportunities given during the high growth period are disappearing. What we need to focus on at this time is not to dwell on the past or worry about the future, but to focus on the present time.

Time is not a fixed concept. The past can be reinterpreted based on the present, and the future can be changed with the efforts of the present. The only gift allowed to us is the present. There is no life that a person can live twice. Today is our youngest day, and it is the only gift given to us. The past is gone and the future has not yet come. The future comes to us only in the present form of today.

We must live faithfully in the present. When we focus on the present, we can recall the past beautifully and design our future with hope. When we are faithful to the present, we can live a growing life, a valuable life, and a happy life.

We can only live in the present. Today is your past and today is your future. Looking at your life today, we can know your past, and we can predict your future. You must live faithfully today. Only today is the life you can use.

I wish you full of blessings as you live faithfully in the present.
