Growth is more important than success.
Not everyone can be equally successful. Times have changed. It is now an era in which the growth and value of each person is important. Growth is more important than success, and value is more important than success. Not everyone can succeed, but everyone can grow and live a valuable life. As South Korea has grown rapidly in a short period of time, we have been trapped in the frame of success for the first place.
If first place is defined as success, there is only one person who succeeds no matter how many people try hard. But if we define success as a success to make any progress from yesterday, anyone can succeed.
For example, if only the first place is gathered in high schools nationwide and they compete, there is only one first place, and even the last place. If you define going to SKY University as a success, too many students experience failure. This is because not all students can pass SKY University structurally. However, anyone can experience success if they newly define it as success to grow according to their characteristics.
In fact, it is a difference in perspective whether it is successful or not. The opposite of success is not a failure, as long as you think differently. A single word change from success to growth completely changes the perspective of life. If you've made any progress from the past, that's a success. Now don't regret your life with the wrong concept of success, or demean your efforts. You shouldn't ruin your life with the wrong concept of success. The wrong concept of success is due to the fact that the older generation has shouted for success over personality to their descendants amid materialism. Even parents have persuaded and forced their children that success is more important than personality.
Don't get stuck in the wrong frame of success in the past. It is time to break away from the old-fashioned success frame. It is time to change the concept of success in line with the changing times. It has become an era in which growth tailored to each characteristic is more important than success, and fair and correct values are more important.
When you value growth and value the right value in your life, everyone can protect their self-esteem and enjoy happiness in their own ways. Real success is not about comparing yourself to others, but about developing over yourself in the past. From now on, I hope that a culture that finds happiness in growth and happiness in values will settle in our society. And I hope everyone will grow up in line with the changed trend of the times and be full of meaningful values in life.
